Sellers Guide

Most sellers want their property to sell quickly. But sometimes it is inconvenient to sell a home – especially one that you are still living in. As an experienced REALTOR®, I can help you 'see' your home through a potential buyer’s eyes and make recommendations for making it more attractive.

  • Depersonalize your home as much as possible. The best way is to clear out your closets or reorganize them, pick up clutter and pare down what’s inside.

  • Store away items and special collections usually displayed in cabinets and hutches.

  • Remove excess furniture.

  • Keep the house clean every minute it’s on the market! This takes great effort, but you'll feel comfortable if the buyer wants to see it with short notice.

  • Check A/C and heating systems. A checkup from your regular service tech can reduce potential problems at inspection time.

  • Fix leaky faucets, toilets, and replace faulty lights.

  • First impressions count. Paint (or touch up) exterior. Repair screens and windows. Many buyers make their purchasing decision on appearance as soon as they drive up to the house.

  • Spruce up your landscaping. Have your yard mowed and edged regularly and remove or trim dead trees and shrubs. Plant colorful seasonal flowers. If you have a pool, make sure it is crystal clear. Remove inflatable toys.
